Description
This engraving was part of a particularly famous work of Casserio: the Tabulae Anatomicae. This engraving though, among others, was published a decade after Casserio died. From servant to accomplished anatomist, Casserio made several discoveries of human anatomy, from parts of the brain to the abdomen muscles to the muscles of the back. These illustrations would be later incorporated in other anatomy texts of the 17th and 18th centuries, although the identity of their true creator was often left out.
