Jourdain Guibelet (Unknown, France, Anatomist)

Description
This engraving was part of Guibelet’s work in Trois Discours Philosophiques. Guibelet challenged the traditional medical opinion affirmed by Aristotelian and Galenic thought that women’s bodies were a physiological aberration of male anatomy.
