The "We are USAHS Library" series aims to highlight the University Library team and the work they do. This post features Adam Mills! Adam is the Circulation Manager at the St. Augustine Campus.

What are your day-to-day responsibilities at the Library?

Mostly, I keep the library “running” by helping students and faculty get what they need!  That includes check out services for items like bone models/equipment/books.  It also includes help with printing, using the library website, managing student workers, answering questions in person and online, proctoring exams, etc.

What was your first library job?

This one.

What has been an interesting project that you worked on?

Preparing the library for reopening this fall was quite a challenge, but it was definitely worth it to see students studying in the library again!

What do you enjoy about working at the Library?

I love helping students.  Being able to contribute even a tiny bit to their academic success is rewarding.

What is a hidden gem of the Library that you wish more people knew about?

I’m going to call it ‘The Lounge’. It’s a leisurely spot in the back of our St. Augustine campus library with two couches, two lounge chairs and a big whiteboard that most students miss.  The Lounge needs more attention.

What are some things on your bucket list?

Would love to visit every National Park.  Been to quite a few, but so many more to explore.  Zion and North Cascades probably my two favorites so far.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Hiking, racquetball, trying new restaurants/breweries and shockingly, I love to read.

What thing have you enjoyed reading/watching/listening to recently?

READ – LUSTER by Raven Leilani

WATCH – SLAXX on Shudder

LISTEN – The Jeselnik & Rosenthal Vanity Project(JRVP)

What are five words that best describe you?

Brilliant, hilarious, iconic, vain, humble.

What is one surprising thing that others may not know about you?

I love all things HORROR.  Books, movies, TV shows, everything.
