The Student Journal of Occupational Therapy, edited by USAHS students and published by the USAHS library, is currently seeking volunteer student peer reviewers.

SJOT offers opportunities for student peer reviewers, editors, and student authors to participate in the double-blind review and publication of high-quality student work in an online, open access journal. Participation in a peer-reviewed journal publication is a great professional resume builder. If you are interested in participating as peer reviewer, please contact us at SJOT@usa.edu.

Application requirements for peer reviewers include:

  • At least one letter of recommendation from USAHS faculty. (Recommendations should specifically address the student’s critical understanding of the research process and knowledge of APA style and should be emailed directly from faculty to sjot@usa.edu).
  • Completion of at least OCT5210 (Scholarly Design) or its equivalent by the end of the Fall 2021 term;
  • Commitment to approx. five hours/month + one monthly meeting of journal staff;
  • Completion of peer-review modules within the Web of Science Academy (This training will be completed after acceptance but must be completed before participating as a reviewer. Completion takes approx. 2-3 hours online);
  • Good academic standing.

More information about the journal and its policies can be seen on at https://soar.usa.edu/sjot. We welcome any questions regarding the journal, article submissions, and/or peer reviewer positions. Please direct all questions and applications to SJOT@usa.edu.
